As a Rhodes Scholar, Megan Steven completed her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Oxford University in 2005. She currently works as Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences and Assistant Dean of the Faculty for Special Projects at Dartmouth College, her undergraduate alma mater. As a faculty member there she teaches both an introductory course in neuroscience and senior-level seminars in neuroanatomy and science writing. As an assistant dean, she is involved in helping to further the academic mission of the College.
Publications ranging from Newsweek to the New Scientist have highlighted her research, which uses brain-imaging techniques to help understand how the senses are integrated in the brain. She is has a true passion for scientific literacy and science communication with the public. To that end, she has created a web-based column on brain science called megonthemind.com.
