Why It's Awesome:
The individual that came up with the saying, "Less is more," was obviously not familiar with the LDRS drag race. Multiple rockets all take off at the same time, struggling to lift off just a fraction of a second faster than the rest. After the deafening roar subsides, all that's left at eye-level is fire and smoke.
The Rules:
The rocket that reaches one thousand feet in the least amount of time is declared the winner.
Up to 16 rockets may participate at once.
All rockets will launch at the exact same time.
Each must climb safely and be recovered in one piece.
Submissions must be at least 6" in diameter.
Must be powered by a single, certified "J" motor.
Each rocket must be equipped with an unmodified recording altimeter.
Drag Race Photos:
It's just like being there, except there are no dust storms and you most likely haven't gone deaf in your right ear.

More LDRS Rocket Divisions
Experimental Division: The main event. See the most powerful and the most volatile rockets around compete to break the 100,000-foot mark.
Low Altitude: Also known as the "Weird Rocket" category, you will not believe what kinds of crazy stuff can blast into the air with the clever use of physics.
Race to 6,000 Feet: Big-time rockets blast off while trying to reach an altitude of 6,000 feet in the last amount of time.
