Top 10 New Species

 
With so many species having gone extinct, it's nice to know that we still occasionally discover a new one.

Most of them have been around for a long while, just unbeknownst to us.

We discover about 15,000 new species each year (more than half of them insects), and we have a ways to go: Scientists estimate there may be as many as 10 million species on the planet, from microbes to mammals, just waiting for us to find them.
